YOUR MISSION

The Design Engineer, Item management is responsible for sourcing engineering and technical review for supplier details and compare key components information, Strong understanding of Item lifecycle management to support spare parts review and technical review of data for aftermarket initiatives. You will be actively working with Aftermarket Sourcing team on strategic initiatives like Supplier consolidation, Cost saving and NWC.

Key Responsibilities

The Design Engineer Item management will be responsible for data validation, data analysis and technical analysis of key components and spare parts across different stages of Item lifecycle. Collaborating with various departments and stakeholders, including LOHA aftermarket team, mechanical & electrical engineers and also OEMs and suppliers.

YOUR PROFILE

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience into Item lifecycle management in Sandvik or relevant industry, with knowledge of Key components in mining or heavy machinery , BoM management, Teamcenter, NX.
  • Sound knowledge of Loaders and trucks for underground mining machines or equivalent

Technical Expertise:

  • Ensures supplier components meet engineering and quality standards.
  • Performs spec reviews and validation against design requirements
  • Specializes in validating supplier data, technical specs, and identifying recommended spare parts for key components
  • Strong knowledge and hands on work experience on Engine, Transmission and Axle is a must, ability to identify spare parts for the same
  • Demonstrated experience using Teamcenter with Item creation and management.
  • Item management experience E2E and understanding of process
  • Spare part management, Bill of material handling and attribute understanding
  • Hands on knowledge on TC, ERP and SAP knowledge
  • Perform data audits and clean-up activities to maintain accuracy
  • Knowledge on aftermarket process will be valuable
  • Experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment, preferably mining or heavy industry.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to compare component specification from OEM and suggest for changes.
  • Ability to identify recommended spare parts for all the components used in LOHA machines

Communication and Collaboration Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with global teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to work in dynamic environments that may include site visits and fieldwork.
