Ultimately, we strive for a day when race is not a barrier to health and wellness, substance use is not stigmatized, HIV status does not determine quality of life, and HIV transmission is eliminated.</p> <p>Our mission is to promote health, wellness, and social justice for communities most impacted by HIV through sexual health and substance use services, advocacy, and partnership.</p> <p>Our strategic plan includes an articulation of its five key values, which are the foundation for its work and its employees:&nbsp; <strong>Justice, Dignity, Courage, Leadership and Excellence.</strong> We need passionate agents of social change, vanguards of public health, and practitioners of racial justice to join our fight.<br><br></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Position Overview</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <p>The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced sexual health care and takes an active leadership role for the daily clinical operations of the Foundation, reporting to the Clinic Director. The NP works under a clinical scope of practice with the Senior Director of Clinical Services and Medical Director.</p> <p>This is a full-time position working four (4) 10-hour, rotating shifts per week, including Saturdays.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Salary:</strong></span><strong>&nbsp;</strong>$133,000 - $165,000</p> <p><strong><u>EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:</u></strong><br>&nbsp;<br>SFAF is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package and PTO for our full-time employees.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Retirement</strong><br>403(b) Plan – SFAF matches employee contributions (1 to 1) up to 3% of salary</p> <p><strong><u>Essential Duties</u></strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Obtaining medical history and physical,&nbsp;</li> <li>Specimen collection and phlebotomy,&nbsp;</li> <li>Administration of treatments,&nbsp;</li> <li>Performing point of care lab tests and microscopy,&nbsp;</li> <li>Management of Hepatitis C treatment,&nbsp;</li> <li>PrEP and nPEP care,&nbsp;</li> <li>Short-term HIV care,&nbsp;</li> <li>Client counseling and education.</li> <li>Administrative duties as required.</li> <li>Perform moderate complexity lab testing.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Other Responsibilities:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Protocol Development</strong>: Assists the Nurse Manager in developing, implementing and evaluating best practices, protocols, policies and procedures.</li> <li><strong>Public Health Reporting</strong>: Ensures Confidential Morbidity Reports are submitted to the Department of Public Health and addresses any submission issues.</li> <li><strong>Clinical Research:</strong>&nbsp;Serve as a clinical coordinator for various research protocols. Maintains regulatory compliance through proper documentation and implementation of research interventions.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Essential Qualifications</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Communication Skills</strong>: Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills</li> <li><strong>Judgment:</strong> Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; can clearly explain reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process; demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles</li> <li><strong>Customer Service</strong>: Ability to work comfortably with diverse populations, with sensitivity to issues concerning HIV and all disabilities. Responds efficiently and cordially to requests for service and assistance</li> <li><strong>Professionalism</strong>: Reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration; follows through on commitments</li> <li><strong>Dependability</strong>: Completes tasks on time; takes responsibility for own actions; reliable</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Supervision</u></strong><strong>:</strong> N/A</p> <p><strong><u>Physical Requirements and Work Environments</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Skill in operating office equipment such as a personal computer, copy machine and telephone system. Ability to perform routine bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</li> <li>Must be able to differentiate colors to interpret lab tests.</li> <li>The position may have exposure to blood borne pathogens and other infectious agents. Works directly with bio-hazardous materials and infectious wastes. Adhere to strict needle and “sharp” safety guidelines.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Education and Experience</u></strong><strong>:&nbsp; </strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in Nursing required.</li> <li>Current California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license. Must have or obtain certification as a Nurse practitioner (NP) within 6 months of hire.</li> <li>Employee must maintain an active Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License with the California Board of Nursing.</li> <li>Current DEA and California Furnishing license required.</li> <li>DEA Buprenorphine waiver (desired)</li> <li>Current Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.</li> <li>Current California Certification as an HIV Counselor required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.</li> <li>Training in Good Clinical Practices, research ethics, and IATA shipping preferred.</li> <li>At least one year’s experience in outpatient sexual health clinic preferred.</li> <li>At least one year’s experience in clinical research preferred.</li> <li>Bilingual English and Spanish, Russian, Cantonese, or ASL preferred</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This position will have access to protected health information (PHI) and may only access, use or disclose the minimum information necessary to perform their designated role on behalf of San Francisco AIDS Foundation, regardless of the extent of access provided.</p> <p><strong><u>Work Environment</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p> <ul> <li><em> </em>This position is primarily located <strong>at 470 Castro Street,</strong> San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job.
