Position Summary

The Warehouse Coordinator plays a key role in furthering the Mission’s commitment to excellence in service and Christlike compassion. This position supports program objectives, ensures operational integrity, and reflects our values in every interaction with clients, staff, and the public. The Warehouse Coordinator oversees the daily intake, processing, inventory and documentation of food and material donations. This role ensures the accuracy, organization, and efficiency of warehouse operations and plays a key role in preparing deliveries for our Navigation Centers and partners. Each month, SDRM rescues nearly 300,000 lbs. of food, partnering with more than 20 churches to provide food distribution throughout San Diego County. The warehouse coordinator is essential in sustaining these life-changing services and ensuring donated goods reach those in need.
QualificationsKey Responsibilities

Receive, unload, sort, and process incoming food and material donations.
Ensure quality control of all donations and maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Process and fulfill internal work orders for deliveries to SDRM Navigation Centers and partner sites.
Support ongoing warehouse operations through general cleaning, organizing, maintenance, and improvement projects.
Ensure quality during retrieval, separation, counting, and redistribution of food donations.
Sort donated items including clothing, hygiene products, undergarments, and other material goods (both new and used).
Load and unload trucks; safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport goods.
Accurately weigh and record food donation poundage.
Follow all proper handling, food safety, and donation intake procedures.
Perform daily inventory data entry using Pantry Soft Software.
Uphold inventory control standards and ensure product quality is consistently maintained.
Train, supervise, and coordinate the daily tasks of volunteers, students, and SER program employees.
Lead volunteer projects and provide support during food/material distribution efforts.
Support and participate in ministry-wide activities and chapels as applicable.
Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold trauma-informed practices and ensure client dignity.

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of High School Diploma

 

 

Experience:

Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, trauma, or addiction preferred
Minimum of [2] years working in a nonprofit, ministry, or human services environment preferred
Warehouse operations experienced
Inventory control and data entry
Familiar with food handling and material goods

Skills & Abilities:

Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, faith-based environment
Strong communication and administrative skills
Capable of maintaining emotional resilience in challenging client situations
Proficient in basic clerical tools and software, including Microsoft Teams, Word and Google Maps
Skilled in the use of electric pallet jacks and forklift
Ability to multitask

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role may require walking, standing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working irregular hours, including evenings or weekends.
Environment includes residential program sites and client-facing spaces.
