About this role

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and facilitate the monthly Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for PSG.
    • Develop materials for and facilitate monthly SIOP meetings with the PSG Leadership Team.
    • Capture action items and follow up with assigned stakeholders to ensure completion.
    • Facilitate closing gaps between the demand and supply plans and the budget plans. Develop scenarios to resolve issues and address business risks.
    • Manage the monthly demand planning process, generating statistical forecasts, facilitating demand review with commercial teams, producing a rolling 18-month forecast of unconstrained future demand.
    • Manage monthly supply planning process to review and update supply inputs (capacities, throughputs, constraints, etc.) in collaboration with operational stakeholders.
    • Develop and update 18-month rolling supply plans for assigned product groups that incorporate demand, production and outsourcing supply, and inventory.
    • Generate and analyze demand and supply planning performance metrics, identify performance gaps and opportunities to improve planning inputs. Support development of SIOP reporting via Power BI platform.
    • Collaborate with production, procurement, logistics, and others as needed to review and evaluate the demand/production plan against inventory, capacity and external factors and to create mitigation actions to resolve demand-supply imbalances and gaps.
    • Generate item-level forecasts and inventory targets to support SIOP aggregate demand and supply planning, SKU inventory planning, SKU production scheduling.
    • Identify and implement SIOP process and scope improvements.
    • Develop, implement, and support planning and operations data, metrics, and reporting, including transitioning reports from Excel to Power BI.
  • Manage team of planner / analysts to support demand planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
    • Lead common efforts across Packaging, synergize, when possible, but differentiated where necessary, to perform market segment analysis, prioritize targets, and determine optimal go-to-market approaches.
    • Lead education, development and consistent application of best-practice strategies and governance. Development of sales training plan, coordinate with Product Managements and sales leaders for ongoing training.
    • Integrate efforts in pursuit of profitable value solutions, cross and value selling opportunities across Packaging.
    • Lead the creation and execution of regular Sales Summits purposed to align commercial strategies and action plans.
    • Build organizational capabilities roadmap – e.g. CRM and pipeline management, Sales Forecasts, PowerBi reports.
    • Build organizational adoption of and establish and consistently deploy the Commercial Excellence operating model.
    • Lead the development and performance measurement of sales incentive plans that align with and drive organic and profitable growth.
    • Create and oversee the implementation of strategies to grow, develop and retain key commercial talent.
    • Develop and implement solutions with HR on organizational design and structure, organizational effectiveness, cultural assessment and skills gap analysis.
    • Maintain and update job knowledge and commercial acumen by identifying opportunities for personal and team professional development and continuing education, builds professional network (internal and external), participates in professional and commercial organizations for the benefit of Samuel.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, logistics, statistics, engineering, and accounting.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in supply chain planning and operations, including experience managing sales & operations planning, S&OP, SIOP, within manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience required in the areas of demand planning, forecasting, production or materials management.
  • Experience managing a team.

SKILLS:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain fundamentals of production/inventory/demand planning and raw material planning/sourcing/purchasing.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex business problems to all levels in the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills and proactive work ethic.
  • People management skills, including ability to develop team members and delegate effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel for data manipulation and analysis (including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI is a plus. 
  • Experience working with ERP, MPR, forecasting, production planning & scheduling software systems preferred (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365, ForecastX).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Travel up to 20% as needed.
