The Retail Management planning role sits at the centre of Retail & Field operations, supporting the Retail Leadership Team. This team is responsible for connecting the strategies and plans across the teams, and for driving key initiatives forward in physical retail.

Role and Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

  • This role requires managing across the team to manage the division’s Retail management priorities, ensuring alignment across teams, driving critical initiatives, and supporting the Retail & Field Head in decision-making processes.

  • This role will work closely with senior leadership, providing operational and project management oversight. We are looking for a “stitcher”, who has extensive experience with storytelling across both business and Retail plans.

  • Organisation-wide communication manage and create the RM & Team presentations, reports, and strategic documents

  • Provide presentation development support for key internal communications and presentations including Divisional Quarterly Planning, Retailer QBR, Exec decks, Retail Quarterly Business Reviews, and team meetings. Including storytelling across both business and financial plans and initiatives

  • RM meeting owner, supporting recurring strategic and operational meetings such as RM meetings, preparations for comms or meetings with Suwon HQ etc. to ensure shared information, updates and alignment.

  • Work with RM attendees to assemble and create the agenda available before meetings to drive meeting effectiveness.

  • Collect and prepare content as required. Ensure actions are tracked and completed. Source and curate content for regular RM reporting to SLT

  • Manage scorecard metrics across Retail management, ensure measurement against timelines and KPI’s.

  • Connect the dots across teams and workstreams that should intersect and collaborate. Highlight risk and identify areas of improvement across the Retail teams and make actionable recommendations.

  • Present the Retail & Marketing Leadership Team with detailed operations analyses

  • Project manage special strategic initiatives for the Retail team from inception to completion and develop business insights and recommendations

  • Support the Retail Strategy to develop and lead key ongoing Retail-wide analyses, including researching and analysing retail industries, technology segments, and business models.

  • Work cross-functionally to incubate ideas and develop strategies that influence the future direction of Retail investments. Craft compelling stories, supported by data, that bring strategies to life. Help transform the Retail Team’s ideas into reality and monitor their progress

  • Manage and drive efficiency and return on investment across Retail Maintenance and Planogram Agencies. Ensure alignments across all product categories.

  • Represent through RM processes and be a promoter of Samsung to retail partners ensuring a strong working relationship to ensure we optimise return on investment in stores.

  • Have a robust rhythm and cadence of communications to ensure stakeholders across SEUK / Europe & Suwon are aligned to all activity and responses to queries are managed quickly and effectively.

  • Influence and shape plans by developing strong relationships with the Suwon team.

What we need for this role

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • The ideal candidate has strong business and financial competence, is organized, strategic, and possesses excellent management, leadership, and communication skills.

  • This role typically requires 10+ years of work experience in strategy, finance, or business development role in a Retail-centric environment

  • Experience maintaining relationships and working cross-functionally within global/large scale organisations

  • Ability to understand and articulate the big picture to executive teams, while maintaining exceptional attention to execution details

  • Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate complex meetings with executives and partners across multiple functions in an organization

  • Excellent program management skills, with ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and skills
