Role and Responsibilities

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is now accepting applications for its Summer 2026 Intern Program.  This exciting opportunity offers a paid, 10-week experience for selected senior or recently graduated students.  The program will run from June 1 to August 7. 

Eligible students will be seniors or recent graduates, possess U.S. work authorization, and be able to work full-time on a 5-day-per-week on-site schedule.  Additionally, participation in this program requires that you be located in the United States for the duration of the engagement.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.  The application window is open until March 15, 2026; however, it may close earlier if all available roles are filled. Applications submitted after the application window or once a role is closed/projects are full will not be considered.

We are seeking a creative and motivated Gaming Design Intern to join our team in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, or Plano, TX. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative gaming experiences while gaining hands-on experience in game design and development. The intern will work closely with our gaming team to support the creation of engaging and immersive games.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of game concepts, mechanics, and user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide design solutions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and visual assets to support game development.
  • Conduct research on gaming trends and user preferences to inform design decisions.
  • Support testing and iteration of game features to ensure a high-quality user experience.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Game Design, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of game design principles and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • To qualify for the summer internship, candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the length of the internship program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with game development projects or portfolios showcasing design work.
  • Familiarity with mobile or console gaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.

The hourly range for this role is expected to be between $35 and $39.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
