Responsible to oversee and support office daily activities, to include:

Scheduling patients for office visits and follow up appointments. Registering patients in electronic medical record system; ensuring accuracy of patient demographics and insurance information; accurate completion of insurance questionnaires/forms. Medical record management: preparation of charts for upcoming appointments; responsible to ensure all necessary documentation is in the chart prior to filing; obtaining appropriate medical release form prior to copying/forwarding patient information. Entering appropriate billing information at check-out. Collection of co-pays from patients. Ensuring accuracy of submitted bills. Entering hospital charges.  Must have understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding. Responsible to assist in the development and maintenance of workflows to maximize office efficiencies. Will be required to function as office staff as required by workload and staffing

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement: High school level of knowledge.

Minimum Experience Requirement: Proficiency with word processing software, with minimum typing speed of 40 wpm. Ability to compose correspondence and proof assignments to ensure accuracy of documents. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required. Detail attentiveness required. Individual must be self-motivated and willing to direct staff. Previous experience in a health care environment preferred. Ability to simultaneously handle multiple assignments and projects with speed and accuracy. Able to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints.  Supervisory experience preferred.
