About this opportunity:
This role supports the operation of shooting activities done at camp. You will be responsible for supervising and planning of program activities pertaining to the shooting track that are safe, fun, and engaging. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative, Christ-centered community that values fun, service, and intentional mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise campers to ensure safety, well-being, and positive engagement throughout shooting activities.
Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate shooting activities while maintaining a positive, encouraging environment that fosters connection, confidence, and participation among campers of varying skill levels.
Model Christian values and integrate faith into daily interactions, camper programs, and camp life.
Utilize appropriate behavior management and communication techniques as trained.
Supports and participates enthusiastically as a team member in overall camp programming, special events, and evening activities as part of a collaborative staff team.
Maintain inventory and safely manage shooting equipment and supplies.
Enforce camp safety policies and promptly report incidents or accidents according to camp procedures.
Must be at least 21 years old and a high school graduate or GED preferred.
A heart for others and a mind towards Christ.
Should be self-motivated and teachable.
One year experience leading sports, recreation, or shooting activities preferred, OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid and current Drivers License
A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelle’s policies.
CPR & First Aid certified or capable of passing by June 15, 2026 (training provided by Camp Hoblitzelle during staff training if needed.)
Must be able to pass a state and federal background check.
Additional Information:
Camp Staff Training will be held June 8 – June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program sessions will be held June 15 - July 26, 2026. If you are unable to work the entire season, please let us know on your application.
