Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Greet and engage patients with respect and a smile.
  • Responsible for decontamination and cleaning of all equipment and instruments; ensures cleanliness and sterility of all instruments.
  • Accurately assembles instruments sets based on established count sheets; effectively uses materials and supplies while minimizing waste.
  • Appropriately prepares and packages single instrument items, differentiating items requiring steam versus gas sterilization.
  • Stores, delivers, and manages sterile supplies using aseptic technique.
  • Evaluates functioning of equipment; reports malfunction follows through to ensure appropriate repairs are complete and
  • maintenance performed preventing future damage.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all clinical areas between patients.
  • Stocking and Re-stocking treatment rooms and open bay area with all necessary dental supplies.
  • Help maintain the Daily/Weekly/Monthly Dental Assistant Checklist
  • Help maintain and document maintenance on all dental equipment.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, sterile, and patient-centric working environment.
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g, OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, Employee Handbook).

Qualifications

You will be required to possess the following:

  • One (1) or more years of practical experience as a dental sterilization technician (Preferred).
  • Physical ability of transporting supplies and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Prioritize multiple demands and requests to maintain patient flow.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and lend support, as a team player, to team members as needed.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire for professional growth.
  • Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry and dental terminology (Preferred).
