Position Title:  Theology Teacher 

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Full-time/Part-time: Full-time - 10 months

 Reports to: Assistant Principal for Academics

 Position Summary:  Salpointe Catholic High School is looking for an experienced High School Theology Teacher.  The best applicant for this position will be a practicing Catholic who enjoys working with High School students and has a strong desire to work in a collaborative and supportive community.

Duties include:   

• Plan academic lessons
• Promote learning and ensure safety
• Work closely with students, families, staff, teachers, and administration to support the mission of the school and ensure student success                                                                  
• Desire to participate in a Professional Learning Community 
• Attend faculty and department meetings as well as professional development sessions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Knowledge of the Bishops Framework for Adolescents    Catechesis is preferred
• Willingness to participate in programs that support and encourage the mission of the Catholic Church and the faith and spiritual growth of the students and oneself.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Catholic Theology, Religious Studies, Religious Education or completion of Diocese of Tucson Level II or Common Formation Program is required

Practicing Catholic

Experience teaching at the High School level

Solid employment history with verifiable references

AZ State Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one
