Job Description​

Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee's Summit, MO is seeking a Nursing Intern for their Medical Telemetry Unit. This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience, while in nursing school.

As a Nursing Intern on the Medical Telemetry unit, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide care to patients with a variety of conditions and acuity levels. This nursing position will provide you with variety in your day-to-day and allow you to expand and grow your nursing skills.  

This position is a year round position- must work at least 1 shift every 6 weeks during the school year.

The nursing intern applicant must have one of the following qualifications:

  • Be enrolled in a formal nursing school

  • Have a certified nursing assistant certificate

  • Successfully completed SLHS NA internal training program

  • Completed their fundamentals of care course in nursing school.

The Nursing Intern performs clinical procedures and provides patient care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs direct and indirect patient care activities. Provides support to other health care team members. The Nursing Intern may perform technical tasks per unit competency validation. However, Nursing Interns are restricted from performing any licensed tasks
