Non-Pay Week: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat 7p-7a with call on Saturdays

Sign on Bonus $15, 000 with 2-year work agreement

Job Summary: Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment.

Minimum Education: Completion of an accredited Technical Ultrasound Program.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (S) (ARRT).

Work Experience: 6 months related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform basic ultrasound echo and/or peripheral vascular studies. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Accurately performs a variety of technical procedures efficiently utilizing ultrasonic machinery for the diagnosis of disease. Positions, transfers and immobilizes patients, as necessary to perform diagnostic procedures. Adjusts machinery and ancillary equipment parameters in accordance with prescribed procedures to obtain diagnostic medical/legal ultrasound images. Assists in equipment calibration to maintain department standards. Understands and performs high level probe disinfection. Schedules exams and maintains department records. Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards. Assists in quality control programs for the maintenance of prescribed standards.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal/external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at director level or above.

Special Job Dimensions: Available for emergency call back.
