About the team
Our Corporate Affairs team leads all strategic, financial and corporate communications across Sainsbury’s and its brands. We work at the centre of the organisation, partnering with senior leaders, commercial teams, Investor Relations, Government Relations, Consumer PR and Internal Communications. The team operates in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment, particularly around financial results, major strategic announcements and key corporate milestones. Joining us means working closely with board‑level stakeholders and playing a key role in how we communicate our strategy, performance and progress to the media, investors and wider audiences.
More about the role
As a Strategic Communications Manager, you will support the delivery of Sainsbury’s strategic and financial communications, reporting into the Senior Strategic Communications Manager. You will help prepare and draft press releases, briefing documents, Q&A materials and social media content relating to key business activity.
A significant part of the role focuses on financial reporting cycles, including drafting materials for full‑year, interim and quarterly results, as well as contributing to the Annual Report. You will work closely with colleagues across the business to gather insights, identify compelling stories, and translate complex business updates into clear external communications.
The role also involves supporting corporate website content management, engaging with journalists, contributing to media events and building relationships across the organisation. You will regularly interact with senior stakeholders, including opportunities to observe and contribute to high‑level discussions around our corporate narrative.
More about you
You will have demonstrable experience in corporate or financial communications, ideally gained through agency or in‑house roles. You can draft clear, accurate and engaging written materials across multiple formats and audiences.
You will be confident building relationships at all levels, including with senior stakeholders. You are comfortable working at pace during busy reporting periods and can manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, developing strong cross‑functional networks and proactively identifying opportunities to improve communication outputs.
