About the team

Our Strategy Finance team plays a pivotal role in shaping the long‑term direction of the business. Working at the centre of high‑profile commercial decision‑making, we partner closely with Strategy leaders to create value, drive performance and support the organisation’s most exciting growth initiatives. As part of the wider Finance function, the team provides trusted insight, constructive challenge and robust financial expertise to influence and guide strategic choices across the business.

 

More about the role

As Finance Manager, you will evaluate new initiatives and strategic projects, using robust financial modelling and commercial analysis to shape key investment decisions. You’ll assess the viability and performance of pipeline projects from concept through to rollout, interpreting results and presenting insights that guide senior forums.

You will own budgeting, forecasting and project-related reporting, ensuring alignment across Project Managers, FP&A and wider Finance teams. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration and engagement with external partners such as banks, lawyers and consultants, alongside contributing to wider Finance initiatives.

You bring analytical strength, commercial awareness and strong financial modelling capability, combined with the ability to simplify complex information for a range of stakeholders. You’re comfortable partnering across functions, building trusted relationships and providing balanced, constructive challenge where needed.

You thrive in environments where priorities evolve quickly, taking ownership for delivering accurate, insightful analysis that supports confident strategic decisions. You communicate clearly, identify financial risks early, and play an active role within project teams to ensure financial inputs are robust, practical, and aligned with strategic goals.

 

Essential criteria

  • Professionally qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Ability to build, interpret, stress‑test and iterate financial models with advanced Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders within a commercial finance setting.
  • Proven capability to analyse strategic, financial and commercial information.
  • Substantiated ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast‑paced environment.
  • Evidence of supporting or delivering business planning or strategic evaluation.

Desirable skills

  • Professional background within a top‑tier consulting firm or a blend of consultancy and in‑house experience.
  • Exposure to project‑based or transformation work.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx.
