The New! Residence Inn Claremont is hiring for an Opening Director of Sales. This leader will drive the hotel’s Opening Sales efforts in addition to driving revenue success, client relationships, and strategy once the Hotel opens. This role directly supports the Hotels’ mission to Soar to Success, elevating both guest and owner satisfaction through results-driven excellence.
The Director of Sales (Sales Captain) leads the hotel’s sales and revenue generation efforts by developing strategies to attract new business, maintain existing accounts, and maximize profitability. This role is responsible for driving top-line revenue performance and ensuring alignment with the Hotels’ commercial goals. Expecting Hotel to opening Spring, 2026.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Sales Leadership
- Participate in the Opening Sales processes
- Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets.
- Lead the sales team in prospecting, contracting, and account management activities.
- Maintain strong relationships with corporate, group, and travel partners.
- Represent the Hotel at networking events, trade shows, and community functions.
Revenue & Strategy
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Oversee group room and event sales to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction.
Team Development & Reporting
- Provide leadership and training to employee associates.
- Ensure accurate sales reporting and forecasting through CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Corporate Director of Sales to align strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of hotel sales experience, including leadership or management roles.
- Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
- Knowledge of Marriott tools, sales systems and Delphi experience preferred
- Full-time position with travel and flexible schedule as required.
- Frequent interaction with clients, community, and industry representatives.
- Professional appearance and adherence to Hotel brand standards required.
