<div class="trix-content"> <div> <strong><u>Job Description:</u></strong>     </div><ul> <li>Penalty Review Power of Attorney Processing</li> <li>Processes AZ form 285(s) and AZ form 290(s)as assigned:</li> <li>Processes incoming Forms 285 and 290, reviewing for accuracy and completeness</li> <li>Prepares and processes Power of Attorney (POA) forms or Penalty Abatement forms for data entry into the tax accounting system or PRU team inventory master</li> <li>Ensures forms and all actions taken for paper, emails, and faxes are organized and securely stored</li> <li>Researches and resolves POA and Prescreening issues and questions</li> <li>Serves as a point-of-contact for taxpayer inquiries and cases related to AZ form 285(s) and AZ form 290(s)</li> <li>Assists with proper routing of emails in the AZ Tax help delegated email box</li> <li>Provides tier 1/basic -level customer care to taxpayers regarding forms completion (Form 285 and Form 290)</li> <li>Escalates intermediate and complex taxpayer inquiries and cases to senior team member</li> <li>Processing the Mail (as assigned)</li> </ul><div>Local Only Candidates - Resumes must specify the current location of the candidate, all those who do not state current location will not be considered. - AS A REMINDER - Candidates must be local at time of submission, and available for in person interviews within 1 week of the posting close date. Candidates must also be able to start within 2 weeks of an offer being made. </div><div> </div><ul><li>Tentative start date will be dependent upon interviews conducted, onboarding completed, and the state agency issuing a PO.     </li></ul><div><br></div><div>Remote Interviews</div><div>Hybrid Position - will need to come onsite as needed to process mail. (10% Onsite, 90% Remote). </div><div> </div><div> </div><div><strong>Other duties as assigned</strong></div><div>Ability to understand and apply statutes, laws and procedures governing filing requirements and assessment of penalty and interest. Ability to mathematically calculate tax, penalty and interest assessments according to department policies. Knowledge of and ability to learn various tax types, policies, procedures, sources of legal reference relating to local, state and federal law, and rules of evidence.</div><ul> <li>Understands accounting and mathematical principles and the business environment and is able to apply analytical techniques.</li> <li>Good verbal and written communication.</li> <li>Able to work on multiple projects based on changing priorities.</li> <li>Able to work independently and/or in a team setting.</li> <li>Computer proficient. Efficiency in Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office products and other computerized systems. Particularly skilled with spreadsheets.</li> <li>Problem solving in variable situations requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and/or constructive thinking within broadly defined policies and objectives.</li> <li>Other duties are assigned as related to the position.</li> <li>Follow established guidelines.</li> <li>Some college with major coursework in accounting, business, or a closely related field or two years of professional experience. Spanish speaking is a plus.</li> </ul><div> </div><div><strong>Required Skills: </strong></div><div>Google Suite and/or Microsoft Programs - particularly proficient in Sheets/Excel and Gmail. Research, analytical and critical thinking, problem solving, call handling. </div><div>Understands accounting and mathematical principles, written and verbal communication.</div><div>10 Key Experience </div><div>Associate's Degree or equivalent experience</div> </div>
