Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $166,100 - $220,140.80. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.
Join Our Team as a Senior Manager-Electronics Hardware!
The Senior Manager – Electronics Hardware will lead an engineering team responsible for developing and supporting electronic controls and hardware products. This role focuses on translating organizational strategies into actionable plans, ensuring product quality, supporting customer needs, and driving team performance. The Senior Manager partners with the Director – Electronics Hardware and other senior leaders to execute departmental goals while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & People Management: Balance new product development project activities with product-sustaining engineering operations of the product engineering team, including scheduling work, tracking progress, and ensuring timely delivery of projects. Manage departmental administrative team member processes, including but not limited to recruitment, induction, vacation management, performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and workforce/succession planning.
- Strategic Execution: Translate departmental strategies into operational goals for product engineering and development teams. Align team objectives with organizational priorities in customer support, product quality, and cost efficiency. Contribute input to long-term strategy discussions led by Directors.
- Product Engineering Oversight: Oversee engineering support for assigned product lines, ensuring reliability, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction. Monitor product lifecycle performance and implement improvements based on customer feedback.
- Development Engineering: Staff and manage new product development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. Encourage innovation and process improvements within engineering teams.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products, representing products in customer meetings and internal stakeholder discussions.
- Operational Planning & Budget: Develop short- to mid-term operational plans for assigned teams. Monitor team-level budgets and resource allocation, providing input on departmental investment decisions.
- Goal Setting: Set and manage short-term operational goals for the Product Engineering team, ensuring alignment with tactical plans set by senior leaders.
- Continuous Product Improvement: Drive initiatives to reduce costs, simplify designs, and implement product recommendations that align with business strategy. Help drive product improvements by supporting cost reduction, design simplification, and other short-term initiatives to improve Value Streams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance and production operations to ensure product designs meet quality and manufacturing standards. Offer technical support and guidance to engineers on smaller projects, assisting them in meeting engineering and operational goals.
- Continuous Learning: Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration, promoting cross-functional interactions and knowledge sharing among team members. Drive continuous improvement initiatives for process improvements, gathering feedback, analyzing data, and implementing enhancements to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Compliance: Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules

What you’ll Need To Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
- 8-10 years of experience managing engineers and technicians, with at least 3-5 years in electronics product development leadership.
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycles, manufacturing processes, and industry trends in electrical manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams & other managers, manage performance, and deliver results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Financial acumen to monitor team-level budgets effectively.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.
- Expertise in problem-solving methodologies such as 4SPS, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leadership experience.
