The Assistant Manager of F&B will assist with managing front-of-house concessions and beverage operations, including all front-of-house staffing and event functions. This position will support the overall Food and Beverage functions and day-to-day operations of concessions, bars and catering in the entertainment venue for public and private events.
- Work with department leadership to manage and lead department; assist with hiring, scheduling, training and evaluating employees. Organize and maintain personnel and timekeeping records.
- Support sales and profit goals through appropriate planning and organization of staff, inventory and expenses.
- Submit orders for purchasing food and beverage items and other products required for use in concessions and bars.
- Maintain appropriate product inventory levels and conduct regular in-house inventories as well as periodic inventories aligned with company procedures. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures for ordering, transferring, receiving, storing, tracking and controlling inventory, including the proper documentation and system entry based on HACCP guidelines.
- Ensure department is kept clean, sanitary and orderly, equipment is well-maintained, and the highest level of safety is achieved.
- Maintain well-stocked areas with appropriate signage and properly priced and displayed items.
- Responsible for preparation and communication of staff schedules based on review of attendance projections and ticket sales. Ensure all required positions are filled at all times during a show or event (based on actual attendance and house make-up) while also making sure appropriate staff breaks are taken and staff hours are properly controlled as budgeted.
- Perform cash-out procedures balancing tills and sales for other employees, ensuring proper cash-handling processes are followed.
- Motivate front-of-house staff for better performance and guest service and create harmonious working environment.
- Understand and comply with rules and regulations of government agencies (local health department, state Alcoholic Beverage Commission, etc.). Ensure compliance with financial, administrative and safety policies and procedures.
- Serve as departmental Manager on Duty for public and private events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma required or equivalent
Experience
- 3+ years of customer service experience required
- 2+ years supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Superior attention to detail and organization
- Understanding of staff development and training procedures
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Word and Excel
Licenses / Certifications
- State Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC) server permit required
- ServSafe certification required
- OSHA training required upon hire
