What You Will Do *

As a Software Engineer, you will support one or more phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - requirements, design, development, test, validation, and maintenance.

You will support research and development activities and/or programs of record.

You will work with a talented team of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.

What You Will Learn

Agile methodology and a tool set that supports this.

Modern DevSecOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.

Test-Driven Multi-Disciplined Capability (TDMC) Product Development methodology.

A variety of domains such as battle management, command & control, communications, radar, missile, and/or modeling & simulation

Work across engineering disciplines to develop solutions to complex problems in support of defense systems.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related (STEM) discipline.

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (including internships).

Experience developing object-oriented software using C++.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is also required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with developing, testing, and integrating software using C++ / Java or other modern software development language.

Experience with OOA/D and UML or similar design language/notation. 

Familiarity with Agile or working knowledge of lifecycle processes including Scrum, and Continuous Integration.

Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment including engagement with systems and electrical engineers.

Experience working closely and directly within a team environment.

Demonstrated leadership and self-directed attributes.

Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, etc

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
