Duties & Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of RTD, working effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Works in all RTD facilities, Park-n-Rides and bus shelters to repair and maintain facilities and assist other trades.
  • Diagnosis, troubleshoots and repairs electrically related problems including wiring, Honeywell and other control systems, motors, 480 volt systems, etc. in various installations
  • Installs, repairs and maintains new and installed electrical fixtures, services and systems and equipment. Work may also include but not limited to heating, air conditioning, and plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, carpentry and other general building maintenance systems and equipment.
  • Prepares work orders, estimates jobs, compiles materials lists and performs tasks to ensure completion of the work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operates hand and power tools, District facilities maintenance equipment, snow removal equipment and/or other heavy equipment.
  • Works under minimum supervision and on occasion may direct the work of others in assigned duties.
  • Conforms to all safety regulations and practices.
  • Works on occasion in confined spaces, at unusual heights, outdoors in all weather conditions, in a garage environment and lifts objects such as motors up to 50 lbs. in weight.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current electrician journeyman's license from the State of Colorado and the ability to perform the work of the trade.
  • Must have knowledge of 480 volt systems, Honeywell and other control systems and experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical facilities and equipment, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, carpentry, locksmith work and fabrication.
  • Ability to acquire a Colorado commercial driver's license, class B, within 90 days of appointment as well as a certificate as a forklift operator.
  • Must possess a minimum set of hand tools as specified by the RTD facilities maintenance tool list.
  • No DUI, DWAI, or reckless driving in the past 5 years.
  • Must be able to acquire knowledge of EPA, DOT and other related safety rules and regulations and have knowledge and ability to follow safe work practices.
  • Must be able to read and understand at the appropriate level technical manuals, schematics, blueprints and technical trade code books pertaining to facilities and equipment serviced.
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision and be capable of directing others in assigned duties.
  • Must be able and willing to work changing shifts, in confined spaces, at heights, in a garage environment, outdoors in inclement weather and to lift objects up to 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.

Pay Range:

$41.50 Hourly
