Café Manager – Residential Aged Care

About the role:

In this hands-on leadership role, you will:

  • Oversee daily café operations to ensure high‑quality food and beverage service.

  • Maintain a friendly, efficient, and customer‑focused environment.

  • Drive profitability by managing budgets, controlling costs, and minimising waste.

  • Lead and support café staff, fostering a positive team culture aligned with RSL Lifecare values.

  • Perform POS duties and supervise both front and back‑of‑house, including opening and closing procedures.

  • Manage stock control, portioning, and rotation to reduce wastage and maintain product quality.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health and safety standards.

About You:

  • Experience as a Café Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role

  • Knowledge of Food Handling Legislation, including HACCP requirements

  • Knowledge of aged care or healthcare hospitality services.

  • A passion for customer service and building relationships with regular patrons

  • Barista training or experience (preferred but not essential)

  • A Diploma in Hospitality Management (preferred but not essential)

  • General computer literacy and confident communication skills

  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
