ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The eCommerce Product Owner is responsible for defining and driving the vision, strategy, and continuous improvement of the company’s eCommerce platform. This role acts as the primary link between UX, engineering, analytics, and marketing, ensuring that digital product enhancements deliver measurable value in conversion, revenue, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Product Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate the eCommerce product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Translate strategic objectives into clear product direction and priorities for cross‑functional teams.
  • Backlog Ownership & Prioritization: Build, manage, and prioritize the eCommerce product backlog based on business value, ROI, customer impact, and technical considerations. Ensure the development team always works on the highest‑value initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with different stakeholders to gather inputs and ensure platform enhancements support commercial goals. Serve as the single point of contact for product‑related decisions and communications.
  • Execution & Delivery: Support development teams throughout delivery: clarifying requirements, removing blockers, and validating completed work. Review and accept product increments, ensuring they meet defined acceptance criteria and quality standards. Plan and coordinate release cycles and sprint priorities.
  • Customer Experience & Optimization: Use analytics, A/B testing, and user research insights to validate decisions and optimize key eCommerce conversion paths. Monitor product performance against KPIs.
  • Governance & Quality: Ensure alignment between technical implementation and business expectations. Maintain a structured, data‑driven approach to product iteration and testing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION 

 

  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner within eCommerce or digital consumer products.
  • Strong understanding of customer behavior, eCommerce funnels, checkout/payment flows and CRO best practices.
  • Deep familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, ceremonies, and best practices.
  • Good stakeholder management, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Ability to convert complexity into clear requirements for technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Scrum/Product Owner certification is a plus.
