Overview and Responsibilities

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Region Manager. In this position you are responsible for coaching a team of Area Managers (AM) in their assigned Region to meet company growth goals and targets; marketing Rotech services to physicians, ancillary healthcare professionals and to the hospital community; ensuring results of the overall regional business unit and revenue growth are attained; increasing market share through effective sales team management; utilizing an effective marketing strategy to enhance the overall success and growth of Rotech Healthcare; maximizing earnings through the effective control of expenses, leadership expertise, and mentoring skills to increase team performance; meeting goals and objectives that are defined as a company standard for industry growth; overseeing all clinical activity within assigned Region.

  • Creates region culture that reinforces service level agreements
  • Delivers key controllable expenses within budget targets to maximize productivity and profitability
  • Develops and manages professional development plans for all direct reports
  • Ensures that a “clinician on-call” system for phone consultation on clinical issues after normal business hours is in place for the region
  • Evaluates and mentors Area Managers on consistency, accountability, and performance
  • Keeps updated on industry and market place trends
  • Maintains appropriate documentation regarding personnel performance
  • Maintains consistent plans to ensure appropriate staffing is supported
  • Manages corporate policies and procedures to ensure effective expense management strategies are developed and executed
  • Models effective leadership skills to gain commitment to regional goals and obtain budget results
  • Monitors all state and local regulations (e.g., state licensure, Medicaid regulations) along with regional contracts (e.g., Veterans Administration, Managed Care) pertaining to the delivery of home respiratory care and ensures that LCM is maintaining compliance with such laws, regulations or contracts
  • Monitors, manages, and maintains accountability for performance of region by developing strategies to achieve sales point and revenue growth, regional profitability, service, and financial goals
  • Oversees clinical program training, implementation and oversight of clinical personnel or contract labor
  • Participates in Joint Commission/Compliance audits and corrective action plans
  • Performs frequent and regular location visits to monitor and adjust region strategies
  • Provides leadership, ongoing training, and direction to the entire management team
  • Reinforces and delivers consistent location standards according to company guidelines
  • Reviews all Location Visit Checklists to ensure compliance with Rotech policies and procedures and works with AMs to develop corrective plans of action as necessary
  • Seeks and maintains account relationships to secure revenue opportunities and growth with traditional and/or contractual relationships
  • Works to ensure all sales team members meet standards of company commission plans
  • Works with AMs to plan a schedule of continuing education credits each year that will meet state licensure requirements for respiratory clinicians. If the state does not require RC CEUs, the RM and AM should provide opportunities for at least 10 hours of continuing education per year
  • Works with DVP to implement from a region/area perspective all programs/tools to ensure increased performance and proficiency
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in DME or healthcare industry preferred
  • Previous management, sales, and clinical experience required
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Knowledge of P&Ls, financials, budget analysis
  • Knowledge of third party billing/contracts
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Availability to travel up to 40% of the time with frequent overnight travel required
  • Must reside within 75 miles of one of the locations supported and maintain an office within the region as agreed upon with Division level management for non-travel days
  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence
  • Employment is contingent upon a drug screening test and background investigation

Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry up to 50lbs during travel
  • Regularly review documents with small print
  • Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking and or listening; extensive walking and working on one’s feet for extended periods of time
  • Travel extensively via airplane and/or vehicle
  • Utilize computer for extensive hours

Machines, Equipment and Technical Abilities

  • Basic understanding and ability to use computer programs including, but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail applications
  • Understands use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies
  • Able to use common office equipment (e.g., copier, scanner, fax, computer, etc.)
