Job Overview:

The Product Owner for Camera Motion Systems – Robotics supports the execution and delivery of Ross robotic products by translating real-world customer workflows into clear, actionable development work. This role works closely with the Product Manager, R&D, and cross-functional teams to ensure backlogs are well defined, priorities are clear, and releases deliver meaningful value to customers.

This position is well suited for someone with hands-on experience working with broadcast robotics systems as an operator or engineer who is looking to move into a product-focused role. The emphasis is on execution, sustainment, and customer-driven improvements.

This is an individual contributor role with a strong focus on collaboration, backlog quality, and delivery reliability.

What the job is all about:

Product Execution & Backlog Management

  • Manage assigned product backlogs, including user stories, bugs, and technical debt
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria grounded in real robotics workflows
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Act as the day-to-day product contact for the scrum team, clarifying requirements and priorities
  • Track progress toward sprint and release goals and communicate status to the Product Manager

Customer & Service Insight

  • Represent the voice of robotics operators and engineers in day-to-day development decisions
  • Gather and document feedback from customers, commissioning, service, and support teams
  • Validate solutions with end users to ensure features align with real-world production environments
  • Support sustaining activities, including bug fixes, enhancements, and customer upgrade paths

Quality & Delivery Support

  • Work with PV, test automation, and subject matter experts to support product quality and reliability
  • Help validate completed work against acceptance criteria and Definition of Done
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and areas of ambiguity and escalate appropriately
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of backlog quality, documentation, and team efficiency

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Product Manager to align execution with release goals and priorities
  • Participate in cross-team planning and coordination as required
  • Assist with internal product communication, release notes, and supporting documentation
  • Support product demos, pilots, and training activities where needed

 

Who you are:

  • 3–5 years of experience working with broadcast robotics systems as an operator, engineer, or technical specialist
  • Strong understanding of how robotic camera systems are used in live broadcast, studio, or sports environments
  • Experience working directly with customers or production teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to organize information and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Hands-on experience with Ross Camera Motion Systems products
  • Exposure to agile or scrum-based development environments
  • Experience supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, or sustaining deployed systems
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms
  • Clear, well-maintained backlogs that enable efficient development
  • Development teams have the information they need to deliver quality work
  • Customer and service feedback is accurately reflected in delivered features
  • Sustaining issues are addressed effectively and communicated clearly
  • Strong trust and collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Services
