GENERAL PURPOSE:
The DevOps Senior Manager is responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership, strategic guidance, and operational support across the software delivery lifecycle. This role includes oversight of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, system reliability, and deployment processes. The Senior Manager will lead efforts to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing environments, while fostering a culture of collaboration between development and operations teams. This position will interface directly with key business units and other IT groups to align DevOps practices with organizational goals.
The base salary range for this role is $142,200 - $235,700. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provide hands-on technical engineering management for custom infrastructure development using latest technologies like Github, Jenkins, Bitbucket, JIRA, etc.
• Knowledge of & hands on experience with modern DevOps practices like CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring, automation, etc.
• Experience with DevSecOps Processes including monitoring.
• Manage, mentor and coach a team of DevOps engineers. Ensure that the team is following our engineering and security practices. Provide regular and constructive performance feedback to individuals.
• Manage vendor relationships as well as contract negotiations and renewals in the DevOps space as appropriate.
• Use Agile/Iterative development methodologies to deliver solutions with a high level of quality, flexibility and adaptability. Collaborate with internal and external IT teams to resolve/improve IT processes and procedures and make recommendations.
• Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement to help drive greater efficiencies within Ross. Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent the team from delivering high-quality software.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 10 to 15 years’ IT experience within a Fortune 500 or similar IT environment
• At least 5 years of experience managing a team of DevOps engineers (including offshore teams through 3rd party)
• Strong technical background and hands-on experience in DevOps and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
• A solid understanding of DevOps best practices.
• Hands on experience with CI/CD and ALM tools like Github, Jenkins, Bitbucket, JIRA, etc.
• Proficiency with DevOps architecture and design patterns
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated history of engaging internal customers, including listening, influencing, translating technical details into understandable concepts and building consensus.
• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
