About this role

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Partner with cross functional business teams including Planning, Allocation, Forecasting, as well as other IT teams to deliver large transformation programs for the Allocation business domains. Lead the team that translates business needs into system requirements and drive project delivery with ownership of the overall IT technical solution and vendor platforms. Lead a team of technical professionals as they work with business stakeholders & consulting partners to implement a combination of vendor and custom solutions. Help establish solution architecture & engineering direction for the overall program.

Build relationships with key business stakeholders and product management counterparts to partner with them to align project scope and requirements. Manage the delivery of projects, including overall solution quality, budget and timelines. Highly visible member of the IT portfolio leadership team that works closely with senior business and cross-functional IT leadership.

The base salary range for this role is $132,100 – $249,100. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead a team of delivery leaders responsible for delivering Allocation programs

• Lead large Allocation IT projects including large, multi-year initiatives; manage portfolio product roadmaps, resource, scope and timeline commitments

• Work with Planning & Allocation portfolio as a key participant in the IT 5-year planning and road mapping process and be responsible for managing ongoing business demand

• Help influence and set strategic direction for the Allocation IT portfolio roadmap; work with business and IT leadership to ensure roadmap alignment and business commitment. Collaborate closely with the business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions

• Ensure that individual project teams are constructed and staffed to effectively deliver commitments

• Provide ongoing support and leadership to align projects with our data governance principles

• Act as an expert of what is happening in the retail planning, forecasting and allocation landscape, and bring that expertise into Ross business discussions

• Evaluate and manage third party software and technology vendors to ensure alignment with the business.

• Provide technical leadership for the design, development and maintenance of retail forecasting, planning, and allocations.

• Build a high performing project delivery & engineering systems team with experience in iterative project delivery (Agile) skills and planning & allocation business acumen. Manage a team of software developers and technical experts to execute projects and deliver solutions on time and within budget.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Undergraduate degree in information systems, business administration, or a related technical discipline

• At least 10 years of experience within IT delivery with progressive responsibility and influence. Experience leading projects that involved cloud migration or business transformation is preferred

• At least 5 years of retail IT systems experience, with specific systems knowledge of major retail applications, with demonstrated depth in planning, forecasting and allocation and experience in building custom applications using modern, event-driven microservice architecture and technologies such as Angular and Spring.

• Proven experience in a technical leadership role within the retail industry, with a focus on merchandise planning and allocation systems.

• Experience with implementation and operating modern, cloud retail allocation software

• Experience with analytics applications, data & analytics and data science strongly preferred.

• Strong program management skills and a track record of delivering large, transformational programs in the Merchandise and allocation systems area.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering development projects using an iterative, incremental delivery methodology such as Agile processes

• Strong analytical ability, business acumen, judgement, and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work effectively with senior leaders in IT and the business

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization

• Ability to build and lead teams that are geographically distributed and work across different time zones

• Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the business, to work with a highly talented set of peers, and to work on interesting projects

• Leadership skills; able to supervise and inspire team members

• Demonstrated ability to execute financial analysis, such as estimating and managing project budgets

• Some travel may be required

• Nice to have: Experience with Merchandising and Planning systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
