About this role

GENERAL PURPOSE: 
The Analyst, Process Improvement develops or enhances applications and reports for the Allocation department. They are key player on the project team as the technical analysts developing their skillset to become an expert in design, build, and implementation of the project solution. Process Improvement Analysts must leverage business acumen to interpret ambiguous projects requirements and demonstrate creativity in devising technical designs to meet said requirements. They will leverage a variety of technical skills including Excel, VBA, SQL, and database management; however, they are also be expected to learn new skills as needed. The analysts collaborates with fellow project team members but will often work independently.
 
Process Improvement Analysts work on projects and tasks where analysis of situations or data requires a review of diverse factors. They must exercise judgment to determine appropriate action(s) to resolve a variety of issues and build productive internal/external working relationships. 
 
The base salary range for this role is $68,640 – $97,450. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Technical Standards 
  • Independently create or enhance tools and reports using a variety of software and programing languages (Excel, Access, SQL, VBA, etc.)
  • Create technical designs that meet immediate project requirements, and support future growth. Designs are expected to balance effort, stability, scalability, and performance.
  • Adhere to internal technical standards
  • Deliver project builds that are as free of significant errors as possible
  • Learn new technical skills through formal training and independent study
  • Employ technical problem solving to overcome design or build challenges 

Planning and Organizing

  • Work with project manager to plan and prioritize personal workload
  • Independently scope project work and estimate effort for projects. Account for uncertainties when planning work and adjust designs and estimates when changes arise.
  • Include alternative approaches when planning and estimating work to allow for business partner input.
  • Track work progress and promptly escalate any concerns with project deliverable as they arise.
 
Communication  
  • Collaborate with a variety of staff both within and outside of the project team.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
  • Influence direction of projects through verbal communication
  • Translate requirements into clear technical designs
  • Partner with fellow Process Improvement team members as needed and regularly share knowledge amongst the team.
  • Work closely with fellow Allocation department members to resolve production issues in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Share project outcomes in weekly and monthly team meetings to drive discussions on key learnings and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • 1-2 years equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Efficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Retail math, a plus
  • Retail software experience, a plus (JDA or Other Allocation Software)
  • Ability to independently analyze data sets to solve problem and summarize recommendations
  • Intermediate SQL (experience storing, retrieving, and manipulating data)
  • Intermediate VBA, Python, or an equivalent language coding
  • Ability to develop and enhance reports, data systems, or applications required
  • Experience working within a relational database, particularly SQL Server or Oracle
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. 
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. 
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.  
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
