In 2022, we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Stessa (financial and asset management software), RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both Retail and Institutional investors).</p> <p><strong><br>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage full-cycle processing of U.S. multi-state payroll of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for 600+ employees (draft and review payrun, funding FSA/HSA &amp; 401K)</li> <li>Support accounting month-end close for payroll related items, including payroll and benefits journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals</li> <li>Partner closely with our internal partners (HR/Finance) to provide our employees with a first-class onboarding and payroll experience</li> <li>Monitor payroll inbox on a daily basis and answer employee questions regarding payroll&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage tax and benefits compliance and reporting with all Federal, State, and Local payroll compliance, including tax withholding and garnishments</li> <li>Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, taxes , and other deductions</li> <li>Own and manage relationship with ADP</li> <li>Prepare monthly management reports for the finance team</li> <li>Stay current on regulations, benefits changes, and labor laws impacting the payroll process, and stay compliant for all payroll tax jurisdiction</li> <li>Partner with HR on workers compensation and 401k plan audits</li> <li>Assisting in ad-hoc duties when required</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>6+ years of relative experience managing multi-state payroll processing, including related accounting analysis and month-end reconciliations.</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills required (critical to success in the position)</li> <li>ADP experience required</li> <li>Strong communication skills, written/verbal, and the ability to interact with employees at all levels</li> <li>Ability to work well independently and as a team member in a time-sensitive environment a must</li> <li>CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred</li> <li>Payroll experience in California preferred</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related course of study</li> <li>Unquestionable ethics and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive data required</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location</strong></p> <p>This position is classified as <strong>HYBRID </strong>within the Greater Oakland Area, with an expectation to be in-office on Tuesdays and Thursdays weekly.</p> <p><strong>Compensation</strong></p> <p>$100,000 - $135,500 on annual base salary. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.</p> <p><strong>Pay Transparency</strong></p> <p>Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets.
