Job Title: FLRAA System Design Integration Engineer – Systems Engineering & Verification

Working Pattern: Onsite/Hybrid In Office 3 days/week

Job Description Summary:

We have opportunities for talented engineers to join the Rolls-Royce Systems Engineering & Verification team as a deployed System Design Integration Engineer on the FLRAA AE 1107F engine program (Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft). As a System Design engineer you will have a sound knowledge of Systems Engineering and robust design tools & techniques. You will be responsible for and have knowledge in problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, systems and components throughout the product lifecycle. You will also be a key contributor in the development of the whole engine system architecture and overseeing functional and physical interactions within the propulsion system and at the platform interface.

What you will be doing:

  • Use of system integration & system modelling tools. Strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Coordinate activities across stakeholders to define, manage and meet interdependencies between subsystems to meet requirements
  • Building and assessing Systems Engineering and architecture models using a modelling methodology to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.
  • Use your basic understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to capture structural, behavioral, parametric and requirement aspects of the system.
  • Problem resolution including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, safety investigations, quality concerns, major quality investigations, Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs).
  • Use of strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Support and present concepts during technical design reviews
  • Communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Creative thinker and multi-tasker

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience; OR
  • Master’s degree in Engineering; OR
  • JD/PhD in Engineering
  • Systems Engineering / Systems Integration experience
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred:

  • Experience with gas turbine engines
  • Component definition requirements experience
  • Experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Formal training in Systems Engineering, requirements management, and Validation & Verification strategy development
