Rogers Group is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Equipment Operator to support our road construction crews based out of Knoxville, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating excavators, dozers, skid steers and be familiar with dirt grading, excavation, site utilities, paving, and concrete work. The candidate must have an uncompromising focus on safety and excellence.

Responsibilities and requirements of the position include but are not limited to: 

  • 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavator/dozer/loader/skid steer)
  • Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment.
  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
