The Payroll Advisor will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, supporting payroll-related projects, and being a trusted resource for managers and employees with payroll inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle, semi-monthly payroll for 1,100 employees (salaried, hourly, and commission) across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with federal and provincial legislation, as well as company policies.
- Work closely with managers to support new hires, terminations, vacation requests, pay rate and position changes, and time & attendance.
- Respond to and resolve payroll questions from managers and employees in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete regular payroll reconciliations and accuracy checks to ensure high-quality payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records while handling sensitive information with care and confidentiality.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation.
- Minimum 3 years of payroll experience supporting 500+ employees.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs.
- Demonstrates self motivation and shows strong initiative in identifying and proactively resolving issues.
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
