Job Description

As the USA Government Contracts manager, you will be responsible for developing product proposals and executing project management processes using company or third-party hardware/software solutions. You will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and the client throughout the entire project lifecycle—from proposal and order acceptance to project delivery.

You will collaborate with sales, systems engineering, product development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of new or existing products to clients.

You will report to the Application Consulting Manager and work in a hybrid setting from one of our Rockwell Automation office locations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage 20–30 projects simultaneously, ranging from $5,000 to $500,000, with durations from 4 weeks to multiple years.
  • Customer Liaison: Act as the commercial lead and primary point of contact for customers, coordinating status updates with all stakeholders.
  • Planning & Execution: Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks, updating risk registers as needed.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate resource requirements from internal and external sources.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate, structure, and administer contractual documents with customers and vendors.
  • Sales Support: Participate in sales and proposal presentations and support ongoing account activities.
  • Opportunity Identification: Recognize and recommend additional product/service opportunities within customer organizations.
  • Oversee negotiation and management of contractual documents with customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Establish operational objectives, delegate assignments, and manage team performance.
  • Implement strategic policies and ensure adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance requirements.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Business Development: Build strong customer relationships to drive growth.
  • Growth Strategy: Develop targeted strategies for assigned industries and accounts.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work with internal teams to define value propositions, competitive positioning, and pricing strategies.
  • Risk Mitigation: Conduct risk analysis and ensure clear scope definition in proposals.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company delegation of authority procedures and proposal management practices.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, business development, or sales.
  • 5+ years of experience with proposal development and customer presentations.
  • Prior experience with Rockwell Automation products, solutions, and services.
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience handling controlled and sensitive information.
