Organization Overview

The ability to faithfully store and retrieve memories is an important adaptive quality that allows humans to reflect on, engage with, and respond to an ever-changing environment. Research in the Laboratory of Neural Dynamics and Cognition, led by Dr. Priya Rajasethupathy, focuses on observing and manipulating large-scale neural dynamics in real-time in behaving animals to understand memory processing in the mammalian brain during health and disease.
Overview

The Research Assistant will be directly supervised by a lab member in a team setting, as well as the P.I., providing support in planning, executing, and analyzing data from mouse experiments, including surgical preparations, in vivo brain recording, and behavior, as well as ex vivo tissue analysis. They will also provide support in mouse colony management (setting up breedings, weaning and tissue collection for genotyping).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, molecular biology, or similar academic discipline
  • Previous experience working with rodent models
  • Minimum 2-year commitment

 

Preferred:

  • Bench work experience

The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
