
The Purchasing Assistant will provide essential support to the Procurement Office in managing daily purchasing activities, ensuring prompt responses to internal and external requests. The role will also manage the Purchasing team's shared email inbox.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Monitor and follow up on open orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve issues related to pricing, quantities, or shipment status.
• Communicate with vendors regarding quotes, order confirmations, lead times, and backorders.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure accurate payments.
• Assist with vendor onboarding, including collecting required documents such as W-9, COI, banking information, etc.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for procurement projects.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Additionally, the individual must demonstrate a willingness to learn procurement procedures and exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior purchasing or helpdesk experience. Basic understanding of purchasing terms, supplier management, and ordering procedures.
