The Position

Workflow & IT Specialist (based in Lisbon)

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Workflow & IT Area Manager in Portugal, the Workflow & IT Specialist will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of pre-analytical systems and IT systems marketed by Roche according to customer and business requirements and needs, ensuring a high level of excellence in the service provided by Roche, actively collaborating in the evolution of the business and enabling the best user experience for our customers within microbiology, pathology and clinical chemistry laboratories in Portugal.

Main responsibilities:

  • Conduct implementation projects using appropriate and efficient methodologies. Maintain broad knowledge to effectively diagnose, solve and implement IT & Workflow solutions to support laboratory effectiveness and efficiency  

  • Provide education, training and technical expertise on portfolio with demonstrations and  configuration of IT products. Prepare, install and configure the systems according to customer requirements and needs.

  • Execute preventive maintenance, modifications and corrective actions of IT systems. Provide on-site as well as phone support to customers regarding our IT solutions. 

  • Define and order interfaces between our instruments or Information Solutions and 3rd party host systems. Advise on systems process optimisation and liaise with customers IT functions regarding IT policies, security standards, and other requirements that might impact the use of our solutions 

  • Gather and analyse information to effectively support customers in their daily operations. Analyse root causes of failures in the IT & Workflow solutions  

  • Identify critical customer situations and report them internally. Report quality and operational issues of systems and/or products to Roche support centers and initiate necessary actions.

Who you are

  • University Degree in Information Technology required (or similar area).

  • You have a solid understanding and knowledge about IT infrastructure and network communications. Ideally you have experience in working with IVD/IVDR products or in a hospital environment and troubleshooting complex integrated IT solutions (highly appreciated)

  • With a Service mindset focused on creating value and delivering results according to business and customer needs, you are curious and inquisitive, and have excellent analytical, problem analysis and decision-making skills.

  • Organised and a skilled problem-solver with a strong sense of urgency, you like to solve problems by yourself or with a team, adapting to the circumstances.

  • With effective planning, prioritisation and time management skills, you are able to plan and perform detailed work, following guidelines but also find new ways and solutions.

  • You are collaborative and demonstrate ability and willingness to create trustful relations with customers and colleagues.

  • You possess good communication skills in both Portuguese and English (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels
