This is a high-impact role on our Consumer Platforms- Web & Backend team. You'll be central to a major project, modernizing our web platform by leading a large-scale migration from Angular to React. The position is not just frontend; you'll also build the backend, maintaining core microservices for website functionality and compliance. You'll tackle key challenges like increasing frontend stability and resilience, helping the entire company adopt universal design components. This role involves close collaboration with Design, Product, and other Engineering teams, providing a highly visible impact on the user experience.


You will:



  • Lead systematic improvements to our UI development processes and architecture.

  • Partner with feature teams to deliver high-quality, polished UI implementations.

  • Architect, build, and maintain our design system in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring consistency and scalability across all products.

  • Collaborate with product designers to translate complex design concepts into clean, functional, and high-performance code.

  • Innovate and enhance our component library and associated developer tooling to boost team productivity.

  • Champion best practices for writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in frontend & backend development, component-based frameworks, and UI/UX to drive continuous improvement.


You have:



  • 4+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer, with a proven track record of building and shipping production-level applications.

  • Proficiency in frontend technologies, including expertise with modern component-based UI frameworks like React.

  • Solid experience with backend development, including designing APIs, working with microservices and databases, and building scalable server-side logic using languages such as Node.js.

  • A deep understanding of the entire application lifecycle, from architecture and design to deployment and maintenance.

  • A strong design sensibility and a commitment to creating highly accessible and visually polished user interfaces.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead discussions and work effectively with product, design, and other engineering teams.

  • Experience contributing to or managing a design system is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

$242,100$293,800 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
