Role Summary

In this role, you will be a member of the Architecture, Systems, and Controls Team, responsible for testing and validation of the core firmware platform used across Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies’ full portfolio of products. Using industry best practices, you will help define testing requirements and testing methods that will ensure we continue to raise the bar on the quality of the core firmware platform. Leveraging Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies’ field analytic pipelines, you will help to drive continuous monitoring and improvements to the core firmware platform.


Responsibilities

  • Design architectures and develop embedded software for ECU simulation and physical test assets.
  • Maintain automation and test frameworks at scale for usage in rapid engineering development and manufacturing environments.
  • Develop multi-tiered test suites that ensure the detection of regressions.
  • Collaborate with base software, firmware, and test engineers to implement embedded solution simulations and testing gaps.
  • Come together with your peers to share ideas, ask why with an open and curious mind, and learn from each other's diverse perspectives to deliver great work as a team.
  • Shape the future of our automated testing and release strategies.
  • Partner with product management and engineering peers to design end-to-end user journeys that are verifiable through automated testing.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with Python scripting, including testing frameworks such as pytest.
  • 5+ years developing software for embedded products.
  • Solid understanding of development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA processes.
  • Experience with GitLab CI or equivalent Continuous Integration systems.
  • Good team player with great communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California-Based Applicants: $135,100-$179,040 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law)

 

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies covers most of the premiums.

Total compensation packages for this position include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
