Overview
The Provider Insurance Follow-up Specialist is responsible for timely follow up of professional claims for all assigned provider practice locations. Works an assigned portion of AR and aging reports. Researches and writes appeals on denied accounts. Responds to billing claim inquiries and works to resolve any claim issues.
What you will do
Works assigned portion of Accounts Receivable (AR) and aging reports.
Follows up on professional claims and zero pay EOBs for assigned provider practice locations to obtain payment.
Researches and writes appeals on denied accounts within department guidelines. Resubmits applicable claims within required timeframe.
Responds and resolves insurance company requests for information and works to identify issues and bring to management’s attention. Resolves patient inquiries and complaints.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Bachelors Degree, or greater will count as 1 year of additional experience (Preferred)
Experience
2 years Revenue Cycle experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
CRCR - Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) (Preferred)
