We’re growing fast and looking for a Backend Core Team Leader to own and scale our core media processing infrastructure.

On your day to day

As the Backend Core Team Leader at Riverside, you will lead a team of backend and video engineers responsible for the company’s media processing pipeline. You’ll own the architecture and scalability of both real-time and offline processing systems, ensuring top performance and cost efficiency. Working closely with our AI, Product, and Infrastructure teams. You’ll drive innovation in how Riverside processes and optimizes large-scale video and audio data using distributed systems and cloud-native technologies, while establishing best practices for monitoring, observability, and quality control across the entire processing stack. Beyond the technical leadership, you’ll mentor and grow engineers, fostering technical excellence and a culture of ownership, creativity, and impact.

What Will Make You Stand Out?

• 5+ years of experience in Backend engineering, with at least 2 years leading a team.
• Proven track record in building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, performance optimization, and cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages,.
• Hands-on experience with media frameworks (e.g., FFmpeg, GStreamer, WebRTC) — a big plus.
• experience with video/audio processing, streaming, or rendering systems-a big plus.
• A strong sense of product ownership and an ability to balance innovation with delivery.
