Continuous Delivery is important to us, and we are constantly looking to improve our automated testing and continuous integration.</p> <p>As a Software Engineer for our Retailers business function, you develop, write, and test code for software applications or systems. You are responsible for supporting your software engineering team, ensuring quality standards, and striving for innovation in meeting our business goals.</p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in reviewing code written by peers and receive feedback on your own code to ensure quality and maintainable software development.</li> <li>Learn new technologies, languages, tools, and best practices. We expect our Software Engineers to be proactive in improving their skills and staying updated with the latest trends in software development.</li> <li>Engage in the software development process utilizing agile methodologies. This includes contributing to sprints, user stories, and participating in sprint reviews &amp; retrospectives.</li> <li>Manage medium to large-sized tasks or features assigned by senior engineers, delivering them on time and to specification.</li> <li>Participate in the analysis of feature requirements or issues and propose solutions. You may be involved in solving technical challenges related to performance, scalability, or user experience. Occasionally perform research or develop prototypes to test out new ideas, frameworks, or technologies.</li> <li>Partner with Product/User Experience designers to bring to life excellent client experiences.</li> <li>Help to mentor more junior members of your team</li> <li>Understanding of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes, debuggers, and test frameworks</li> <li>Diagnose and fix software defects or bugs reported by users or uncovered during testing</li> <li>Participate in on-call rotation</li> <li>Understanding and utilization of software development tools including version control, building processes, debuggers, and test frameworks for: <ul> <li>Primary technologies (may include): <ul> <li>Java, JavaScript, JavaServer Pages, Typescript,</li> <li>Angular, React.js,</li> <li>Python, Node.js</li> </ul> </li> <li>Secondary technologies <ul> <li>AWS services (OpenSearch, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, RDS, ECS, and others)</li> <li>SOAP/REST web service APIs</li> <li>Redis, NoSQL</li> <li>Microsoft SQL Server</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Qualifications&nbsp; </strong></p> <p>Minimum Qualifications&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>2+ years' experience developing in Angular, Typescript, JavaScript or Node.js.</li> <li>2+ years' experience developing in AWS Technologies</li> <li>Experience using AI Development tools like Cursor, Copilot</li> <li>Strong verbal and written English communication skills</li> <li>Experience developing web applications, working with databases, and consuming APIs</li> <li>Understanding of relevant software development tools including version control, build processes and test frameworks</li> <li>Ability to work independently with limited supervision</li> </ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field</li> <li>Experience with cloud computing infrastructures such as AWS or Azure</li> <li>Use of source code repositories such as Azure DevOps and Git</li> <li>Experience working with SQL Server and NoSQL databases</li> <li>Experience performance tuning and optimizing high scale systems</li> <li>Experience working with development teams in multiple time zones</li> <li>Proven track record of creating secure and scalable software that scales to dozens or hundreds of servers in a distributed, fault tolerant manner</li> <li>Experience with e-commerce, retail, online marketplaces, or digital advertising</li> <li>Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing environment with keen attention to detail</li> <li>1+ years of AI/ML experience with a strong strategic focus,</li> <li>1+ years expertise in machine learning algorithms, NLP, computer vision, or large-scale deployment</li> <li>1+ years experience in creating data systems for feature stores or vector databases</li> <li>Proficiency&nbsp;in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, or cloud platforms&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Travel Required</strong></p> <p>Up to 10%</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p> <p><em>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee for this job.
