About this role

About Us:  We are a dynamic and fast-growing HVAC company committed to providing exceptional heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions.  Our success is built on delivering top-notch service and creating lasting relationships with our customers.  We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow a high-performance team of Outside Sales Advisers. If you are a seasoned sales leader with a proven track record of driving business growth, cultivating high-performing sales teams, and building a brand with a relentless entrepreneurial spirit, we want to hear from you!

Position Overview: As the Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of leading and developing our Business to Customer (B2C) sales team.  You will be responsible for creating and executing strategies that drive business growth, improve team performance, and ensure customer satisfaction.  This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our sales operations, with a focus on team leadership, coaching, and developing scalable processes that deliver measurable results. Your ability to inspire, mentor, and hold your team accountable will be key to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy Development: Lead, inspire, and motivate your team of Outside Sales Advisers to achieve and exceed both short-term and long-term sales targets.  Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that drives growth, increases market share, and supports the overall business objectives.

  • Team Development & Coaching: Foster a high-performance sales culture by coaching, training, and mentoring your team on best practices, product knowledge, sales techniques, and overcoming challenges.  Regularly assess team strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring continuous development and success.

  • KPI Management & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in sales outcomes.  Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for process improvements, enhance team productivity, and boost overall performance.

  • Recruitment & Talent Development: Take a hands-on approach in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new Outside Sales Advisers.  Ensure the team is equipped with the skills, resources, and motivation to succeed in a competitive market.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, customer care, marketing, and corporate support, to provide a seamless experience for customers. Align sales strategies with service and product teams to ensure a cohesive approach to market growth and customer retention.

  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with both your sales team and key customers.  Provide sales support, answer product inquiries, troubleshoot customer concerns, and deliver exceptional service to foster customer loyalty and business growth.

  • Sales Support & Training: Design and deliver product and brand positioning training for your team to enhance product knowledge and improve sales conversions. Support the team in developing strategies that position the company as the preferred choice for HVAC services.

  • Market Awareness & Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and refine sales strategies. Leverage this market intelligence to maintain a competitive edge and adapt to changing customer needs.

  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management. Use data to highlight trends, track progress against goals, and suggest adjustments to sales strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ progressive sales management or sales experience within an organization that provides services to the business and consumer sectors with direct business-to-customer experience; preferably within the HVAC or home services industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing sales teams, with a focus on driving revenue growth and exceeding targets.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Exceptional coaching, mentoring, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
  • Deep understanding of the HVAC industry, products, services, and market dynamics (preferred but not required).
  • Results-oriented, with a strong focus on KPIs, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and concerns effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and life insurance.
  • Eligibility to participate in a Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Professional growth opportunities in a dynamic and innovative setting.
  • A close-knit, supportive work environment that values collaboration and creativity.
