About this role

Richmond Community Services is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) to collaborate with our Person-Centered Team, ensuring dignity, opportunity, and community inclusion for all individuals we support.


About the Role:

The QIDP is responsible for developing and implementing person-centered plans, coordinating services, and advocating for individuals’ needs, rights, and goals. This role works closely with individuals, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to create personalized strategies that promote independence and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities:

✔ Work closely with individuals and their support teams to assess needs, strengths, and aspirations.

✔ Develop and implement Person-Centered Plans.

✔ Facilitate annual and semi-annual circle meetings to ensure individuals’ voices are central to their care.

✔ Coordinate and advocate for necessary medical, therapeutic, and behavioral services.

✔ Support individuals in accessing community activities, education, and employment opportunities.

✔ Provide guidance and training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other staff on person-centered planning.

✔ Ensure compliance with OPWDD (Office for People With Developmental Disabilities) regulations and documentation requirements.

✔ Maintain accurate records, clinical documentation, and progress reports.

✔ Promote values of inclusion, dignity, independence, and self-determination.


Qualifications & Experience:

🎓 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field required (Master’s preferred).

📋 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral or clinical work with individuals with developmental disabilities.


Requirements:

  • Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to travel between locations.
  • Strong advocacy, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and person-centered planning principles.


Work Schedule:

📅 Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. This is a non-exempt position according to FLSA standards.
