Service Technician 


Become the go-to expert on cutting-edge robotics in a role that blends technical skill, customer interaction, and innovation.

This is more than a maintenance job—it’s a chance to work directly with RHI Magnesita’s most advanced robotic systems, including our proprietary “Terminator” machine. As a Field Service Technician, you’ll own the full life cycle of customer accounts, from machine maintenance and troubleshooting to inventory support and performance tracking. You’ll be the face of RHIM at customer sites, ensuring our high-performance refractory products and systems deliver exceptional results in some of the world’s most extreme industrial environments.

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on RHI Magnesita machines, including the Terminator robot.
  • Support inventory management and ensure timely, accurate tracking of RHIM and competitor product performance.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for product performance, installation support, and service needs.
  • Communicate daily with your supervisor about customer developments, product feedback, and improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in product trials and document results, including pre- and post-trial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and PPE requirements at customer sites.
  • Respond to urgent or after-hours customer needs with professionalism and urgency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support seamless service delivery and operational excellence

 

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED (or higher).
  • 2+ years of experience in refractory installation, steel mill, or foundry environments preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude—essential for working with robotic equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and contribute to team goals.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial environments and safety standards.
  • A forward-thinking, hands-on mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
