About this role
What You Can Expect:
Operational Control
· Oversee the daily operations of road freight transportation, ensuring smooth execution of shipments.
· Ensure that all shipments are dispatched on time and delivered within the agreed timeframes.
Team Management
· Manage a team of freight logistics personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
· Provide training and guidance to staff on safety protocols, company standards, and customer service.
Compliance & Safety
· Ensure that all road freight activities comply with transportation laws, regulations, and company policies.
Coordination & Communication
· Coordinate with the warehouse, customer service, and sales teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
· Point of escalation for operational issues, resolving problems quickly to ensure customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Documentation
· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery rates, vehicle utilization, and customer feedback.
· Submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to the National Freight Manager on operational performance.
What You Bring:
Education and Experience.
· 3-5 years experience in a similar role desirable.
· At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role essential.
· Strong knowledge of safety and compliance regulations, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility with work hours.
· Strong knowledge of road freight operations, logistics, and transport regulations.
· Leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing drivers and logistics personnel.
· Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams.
· Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary starts at €42,000 per annum, DOE.
