Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees and manages operations of 1-3 facility/facilities providing Non-ICF services. Leads and directs the work of Direct Support Associates and is responsible for the operations of the locations assigned to.REPORTS TO:
IDD Residential Team Leader or above.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support employees
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with clinical and professional healthcare staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardizing procedures, and expediting the implementation of person-centered plans
Spending adequate amounts of time in the residential facility monitoring and providing feedback to staff on all three shifts in interactions and relationships with people supported, maintaining harmony between employees clients while serving as a positive role model
Provides audits for medication administration.
Resolving employee issues and conducting performance reviews
Ensuring that employees meet training requirements and attend required events
Monitoring select budget items and staying within guidelines
Monitoring and providing feedback to employees during all three shifts in interactions and relationships with the people supported
Providing after-hours and on-call coverage as part of the direct care rotation
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent
One year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities.
Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
Ability to lift between 20 and 50 lbs. and provide CPR after certification
CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus
Must be at least 18 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and occasionally pull at least 50 lbs.
Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties.
Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, which requires working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
Must be able to talk and hear.
Exception – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs: For these programs only, employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The requirement to talk and hear does not apply.
