Software Tester

RMC has an opportunity for a stand-out Software Tester with 4+ years of experience to support software testing activities in Indian Head, MD. We are seeking applicants with an understanding of the software development life cycle and a solid understanding of development activities (languages, databases, frameworks, libraries). 

• Design, modify, develop, write and implement software test cases, plans, and reports.
• Review, learn, and understand software and application functionality to properly test specific feature capabilities.
• Apply an understanding of distributed systems to configure test environments and execute test plans.
• Work with the software development team to troubleshoot and remediate issues in production environments.
• Analyze and understand each project's environment, architecture, and inter-dependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested.
• Utilize the selected defect tracking and test case management system to document test sets, record defects and record test case execution results.
• Attend information sessions that pertain to newly developed features. Provide accurate feedback during review of documents.
• Assist in writing scripts for automated testing of application functionality.
• Report clearly to supervisors the status of assigned tasks.
• Complete work successfully within allotted time frames (scheduled hours).
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in researching data and developing analytical techniques and methodologies.
• Learn and adhere to testing processes and policies.

• 4+ years of software testing experience.
• Must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE) prior to start.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to attain and maintain Top Secret clearance.
• Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Experience working in a fast-paced web application development environment is preferred.
• Experience using multiple testing protocols/methods.
• Excellent problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in creating and executing master test plans, test cases, and test reports.
• Ability to comprehend complex usage concepts and assess an application's ability to fulfill them.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to positively interact with the customer and team members.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $90,000 to $120,000 (annually).
