Software Developer, Senior (IDS)

We have an opening supporting our Solutions Business Management (SBM) program for a dynamic Software Developer with Java rich client and web application development experience, and strong core Java knowledge. This position is 100% on-site with our client in Indian Head, MD. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and/or modifying enterprise-wide systems and/or application software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise-level applications and systems.
• Develop rich client and web applications using Java/Javascript technologies such as SWT, SWING, RCP, JSP, and EJB.
• Build and maintain full stack .NET web solutions, including SQL databases, C# backend, and front-end components using JavaScript (JQuery, React.js), HTML, and CSS.
• Apply object-oriented principles, design patterns, and best practices in all phases of software development.
• Manage databases (MySQL/T-SQL, SQL Server) and use tools such as TOAD for database development.
• Participate in software configuration management processes, using tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and GIT/SVN for version control, build, and release management.
• Utilize Java development tools such as Maven and Eclipse.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and customers, providing clear communication and documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in software development or engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Java backend development with frameworks such as Spring MVC.
• Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and creating responsive, user-friendly web interfaces.
• In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software design principles.
• Proficiency with GIT for source control (branching, merging, and conflict resolution).
• Familiarity with Microsoft ADO, continuous integration, and automated deployment processes.
• Experience with software configuration management to maintain code integrity and development consistency.
• Strong database development and management skills using MySQL/T-SQL and SQL Server.
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Certifications and Clearance

• Must hold a DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II (Security+ CE) or IAT Level III (CASP or CISSP) or equivalent certification.

• Active DoD Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to attain and maintain Top Secret clearance.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $150,000 (annually).
