Within and created at the same time as CUNY SPS, the Office of Innovative Learning Solutions (ILS) designs custom workplace learning programs to help organizations achieve their goals. We are experts in research-based learning practices, online as well as in-classroom curriculum development and implementation. We are uniquely positioned to respond to organizational learning needs and support change management initiatives swiftly and effectively.
CUNY SPS ILS partners with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) to provide foundational and continuous professional development learning for child welfare and juvenile justice direct service staff and supervisors through ACS’s Office of Training and Workforce Development (OTWD). OTWD encompasses three entities: ACS James Satterwhite Academy, the ACS Workforce Institute and the ACS Institute for Leadership Development.
Description:
CUNY SPS via RF CUNY is looking for a detail-oriented Creative Coordinator to support OTWD. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Communications, this position brings creative design skills that include conceptualization, ideation and branding for print products, event collaterals and other highly visible materials, as well as video production and editing. Our ideal candidate is passionate about our mission and using visual storytelling to make a difference for the families of New York City.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Communications Deputy Director, with a dotted line to the Creative Lead, the Creative Coordinator will:
Conceptualize, develop and execute high-quality visual designs a variety of platforms, including digital, video and print, that elevate and are consistent with the OTWD brand;
Design visual asset materials to explain complex information, key messaging and data to learners in classroom (virtual and in-person) settings and audiences at special events;
Video storytelling (shooting and editing video and/or still photography);
Liaise with a variety of stakeholders to translate artistic vision;
Manage projects on deadline in alignment with brand guidelines, best practices and design principles;
Conduct quality assurance by updating/reviewing existing designs, implementing asset management procedures for accessibility and version control;
Support on-going special projects;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Three years of experience in professional graphic design roles is required. Work with educational institutions or governmental entities is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related content area is preferred.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (in particular InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro), techniques, processes, and best practices used in graphic design is required. Experience with graphic animation and/or motion graphics is a plus.
Experience with professional web applications with the ability to learn additional SaaS products as needed. OTWD uses Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Smartsheet, Basecamp, Canto and Canva on a regular basis.
Excellent attention to detail in written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent skills in storytelling, visual composition, typography, color theory and other design fundamentals.
Outstanding organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize a daily workload with competing deadlines.
