Repsol is hiring a Landman for our Marcellus Asset, who will interact and negotiate directly with landowners to manage current leased and/or acquire new ones. The Mineral Landman reports to the Sr. Land Manager of Land Operations & New Plays as part of the Land & Regulatory Affairs Business Unit.

Location:

  • Primary preference: Locally based within the Marcellus region, working from our office in Horseheads, New York (hybrid schedule)
  • Secondary preference: May be supported from our office in Houston, Texas with frequent travel to the Marcellus region as needed. ​(hybrid schedule)

Position Overview and Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and negotiating of various land contracts including Joint Operating Agreements, Farmout Agreements, Trade/Swap, Oil and Gas Leases, etc.
  • Conduct title review, understand necessary curative determinations to resolve defects or make appropriate business risk determinations.
  • Support BD with various tasks including but not limited to; reviewing records, preparing schedules and preparation of various deal documents.
  • Prepare leases, addendums and reports as necessary.
  • Review leases for pooling restrictions, continuous drilling obligations
  • Prepare Title Clearance Memorandums and Title Handoffs to Land Services
  • Review and provide monthly expiry recommendations.
  • Creating Spacing Unit Layouts for development
  • Prepare Land’s portion of WPM’s and attend approval meetings.
  • Verify and ensure Asset maps are accurate and maintained.
  • Perform typical industry-standard land duties as required including land negotiations, resolutions, and execution.
  • Work closely with Drilling, Completions and Development teams on all activity related to Land negotiations.

Required Education, Experience, Technical Qualifications

  • Must be fully authorized for employment in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree with certification/minor in land management or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of previous Land experience
  • A fundamental understanding of exploration and exploitation procedures
  • Land experience in Pennsylvania is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with computerized land management systems and proficiency in core office applications (word processing, database, spreadsheets, E-mail, mapping packages)
  • Experience with ARC GIS and Quorum Land

Physical / Environmental Demands

  • No exposure to safety hazards as the work environment is relatively free of hazards and there are not physically demanding aspects of the job
  • S – Sedentary Work - Sedentary work duties that include exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible force frequently to move objects including human body. Walking, sitting, standing, talking
  • Travel – will vary

  • In accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law (effective September 17, 2023) and the NYC Salary Transparency Law (effective November 1, 2022), the base salary range for this position is $100,000–$133,000, depending on candidate qualifications, experience, and developmental level.
  • This range does not include additional compensation such as bonus potential, incentives, or benefits.
  • The actual compensation offered will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, job‑related qualifications, and internal equity. This role may be filled at a more junior or more senior level depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
