The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Receives and prepares samples; sets up supplies and equipment needed for daily activities; assist in preparation of chemical reagents for testing.
- Supports laboratory testing on water, wastewater, solids and biosolids to ensure adherence to legal standards and certification criteria.
- Maintain and update applicable documentation and database including bench sheets, quality control, LIMS, etc.
- Completes cross-training in areas of laboratory analysis as needed.
- Helps to maintain working inventory of all chemicals and related supplies for assigned tasks.
- Performs all duties in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Performs general clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and records, completing forms, entering, and retrieving computer data, preparing spreadsheets, etc.
- Attends meetings, training, seminars, conferences, etc., as appropriate to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Requires a minimum of one (1) year lab experience in wastewater or environmental laboratory operations.
